The city of Cuzco is the ancient capital of the Inca empire which was later taken by Spanish conquerors. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993 and is one of the most important tourist destinations of the country and Latin America.
Machu Picchu, also known as the Ruins Machu Picchu is undoubtedly the most important and most visited site in Peru that receives hundreds of thousands of tourists year by year and is known as the ancient sacred city of the Incas. Has a unique beauty that attracts tourists from around the world and being located at the top of the mountain make it unique. It is one of the few places in America to be declared Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO. On June 7, 2007 it was also declared a Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu.
